I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. I attended Northwestern University as an undergrad, majoring in sociology and a minoring in mathematics. I studied with Nicki Beisel, and I developed a passion for both research and advocacy focusing on gender and economic inequality.

As a graduate student at Stanford, I was fortunate to work with several phenomenal scholars, including David Grusky, Michael Rosenfeld, and Shelley Correll.

When I'm not doing research or teaching, I enjoy trail running, reading fiction, and spending time with my dog.
